Jembeee

This week we did percussion workshop in the school with a man called Dave. He started off by telling us all about his travelling Africa because of his interest in an instrument called the Jembe. He wanted to travel to learn about the Jembe because it was no a well known instrument in Ireland. He went to the part of Africa that the Jembe was founded. We began to talk about the jembe and what he studied and how he liked Africa. He taught us about the way the people use the jembe.
It was really interesting we took a break from the music and we talked and asked him questions we asked him about where he has traveled to and where we should travel too.
over all i think we all really enjoyed the workshop.

Zumbaa

Zumbaaaa

This week we started zumba in school. Our class was split into two because the instructor couldn't come in on Friday which is the day we have PE. We will be doing zumba for the next four weeks. We can in and Mr.lawlor introduced us to the instructor. The instructors name was grainne. We started straight away. The dances were really fun and energetic and the songs were good because some were spanish, salsa and some songs we knew for the whole class we didnt stop dancing it was one of the best PE classes we have had. I cant wait for next week.

After Christmas

~After Christmas~

After two weeks off it was really hard to get up on Monday and get back into the routine. The first day was hard and we were all really tired. We started our new work experience this Wednesday i was really nervous to go and meet new people and to learn new things. I was going into an accounting place so i didnt know if i would like it or not. It was kind of boring but i got through the day pretty fast.
This week we went on a trip to the Rds to go to the young scientist. The Rds was packed with all different people from all over Ireland. We looked at all the projects and then went into the show were two men who were scientist who decided to show us what it is like to be a scientist. They showed us we could make a metal out of two liquids, how metals can change the colour of a flame and  what the 'big bang' was. At the Rds we listened and watched  to Home Town play on the radio and just looked around for the rest of the day. The place was filled with things to day it was a good day over all.
